Can I set my Equinox terminal to require a password for particular transaction types?
Your terminal can be configured to require a password for certain functions such as Void, Refund, Adjust, etc. Please note: these directions apply to the Equinox Optimum – T4205, T4210, T4220, T4230 and M4230.
- On the main screen (Sale/Refund/Offline/Debit/Mail/Adjust), press Enter
- Scroll down by pressing the down-arrow twice (bottom-right key beside the screen)
- Press Setup (top-left key beside the screen)
- Scroll down by pressing the down-arrow (bottom-right key beside the screen)
- Press Password (middle-left key beside the screen)
- Press On/Off (middle-left key beside the screen)
- Type in the Terminal Password (if it has not been changed, the default is 0000) and press Enter
- Select the functions to password protect using the down arrow and the corresponding buttons on the left of the screen
- Press Enter when the terminal displays "[function] Password Used Correct"?
- Press the red cancel/X key to go back to the main screen
To change the password:
- On the main screen (Sale/Refund/Offline/Debit/Mail/Adjust), press Enter
- Scroll down by pressing the down-arrow twice (bottom-right key beside the screen)
- Press Setup (top-left key beside the screen)
- Scroll down by pressing the down-arrow (bottom-right key beside the screen)
- Press Password (middle-left key beside the screen)
- Press Change (top-left key beside the screen)
- Type in Maintenance Password 028510 and press Enter
- Type in the desired password and press Enter
- Re-enter the desired password for confirmation and press Enter
- The terminal will show "Response Transaction Accepted" and return to the main screen automatically
