Why am I being charged a Voltage Fee? What is Voltage?

Voltage is a point-to-point encryption method that will allow a terminal (or point of sale device/software) to send credit card data as an encrypted packet of information to the server. The server will decrypt the packet (card number), validate the transaction, and re-encrypt the data to send a response (approval or decline message) back to the terminal (or point of sale device/software). Voltage is an additional security measure for processing transactions, which may help in chargeback cases (credit card disputes).

If you would like to know more about whether voltage can be added to your account, please contact your point of sales provider to ask whether Voltage is compatible with your processing method.

This may incur an additional fee on your monthly Merchant statement. Please contact your Sales provider for more information.
