    Why is the "Swipe Card" button in Sage Exchange Desktop disabled?


    Resolution

    Credit card numbers can be entered into Sage Exchange Desktop (SED) by manually typing the numbers using your keyboard, or by means of a credit card reader ("swiper"). In order to use a swiper, the appropriate device must be selected in the SED settings; otherwise, the "Swipe Card" button will be disabled:

    To select a device, right-click on SED in your icon tray and select Settings, and under Credit Card Devices, choose the appropriate option.

    The vast majority of integrated software -- Sage50 US Edition, for example, will use Magensa Card Swipe. There are a few exceptions; Sage50 Canadian Edition, for example, uses the iPP320.
