Resolving Decline code 000014 with Sage Exchange Desktop
How to resolve an invalid card error while swiping in Sage Exchange Desktop
Product
Sage Exchange Desktop (SED)
Magtek Centurion
Resolution
If the card was swiped through an Integrated software application (e.g., Sage 50, Sage 100, Intergy, etc.) that uses SED, make sure your Sage Exchange Desktop has the correct device (card reader) enabled. Follow these steps to enable your swipe device:
- Right-click the SE icon in your system tray located at the bottom right of your monitor next to the clock.
- Select Settings.
- Enable the correct device. On the left of the Settings window, under Hardware, select Non-EMV Devices.
- Click OK.
- The Sage Exchange Desktop application will automatically restart.
- Retry the transaction
Please note that as of Sage Exchange Desktop Version 2.0.2.31, we no longer allow for unencrypted or clear text card readers to transmit card data to the Sage Exchange Desktop application.
