Integrated Software Products - Detecting SED and SDK

    Product

    SED

    SDK

    Description

Directories to help you detect both SED and SDK.

    Resolution

The following registry entry can be used to detect an SDK installation:

    [LOCAL MACHINE]\Software\Sage Payment Solutions\Sage Exchange\URL

The following shortcut can be used to detect a Sage Exchange installation:

    [CURRENT USER]\Start Menu\Programs\Sage Payment Solutions\Sage Exchange

The following can be used to detect the Sage Exchange Desktop application is running:

    1. Send the string “ACK” using the SDK, an “ACK” string response will be returned if the Sage Exchange Desktop is running.
    2. You can make an AccountQuery call.
    3. You can check for the process signature “SageExchange.exe” in the process list.

NOTE: 1 and 2 (or the first two bullets above) are preferred as the SDK will start the Sage Exchange Desktop for you if it is not running.
