Overview: Visa will waive interchange fees for a select group of U.S.-based nonprofits supporting humanitarian relief efforts to aid the Ukrainian people.
Eligible donations must be submitted through Merchant Category Code 8398— Charitable Social Service Organizations and belong to the following eligible charities in the U.S.
- American Red Cross
- Americares
- CARE International
- Mercy Corps
- Save the Children
- UNICEF USA
- World Vision
On 10 May 2022, Visa will perform back-end adjustments to issuers in the form of Fee Collection transactions (TC 10s) and disburse the funds directly to the respective charities. Visa will provide additional details about the adjusted interchange fees directly to impacted issuers
