    "Data Access Error" when attempting to process a transaction using ECi E-automate


    Description

    User receives a "Data Access Error" when attempting to process a transaction using ECi E-automate. The error message displays when the Sage Exchange interface launches.


    Resolution

    The Merchant ID and Merchant Key values in the E-automate Credit Card Processing Configuration settings are not valid.

    • From the Tools menu, select Options.
    • In the left pane, click [+] to expand the Sales menu.
    • Under Sales, select Credit Card Processing.
    • Ensure NET1/Sage is selected for the Credit Card Vault value.
    • Click [Configuration settings]
    • Verify that the Merchant ID and Merchant Key values match the information received in your NET1/Sage welcome email.
    • Click [OK] to save these settings.
