Error: Application cannot be started in Sage Exchange Desktop

    Description

What does an "Application cannot be started" error mean in Sage Exchange Desktop?

    Resolution

These errors typically indicate that Module SDK is damaged or absent (for download links, please see: Direct installation links for Module SDK)

There are a few circumstances in which Module SDK will fail to install:

    • Port 443 and/or sageexchange.com are blocked
    • The user is not a Network or Computer Administrator
    • The installed .NET framework is higher than version 3.5
    • The initial SED download is an obsolete version. The Sage Exchange installation is signed and, when using the web install method, can only be installed from the matching domain. The domain that is signed with the installation is sageexchange.com. Older versions of SED download from sagevault.com -- this can be confirmed by checking the "Deployment URL" in the install log. In these cases, the installation will fail to validate the publisher's signature.
