What will happen if an ACH EFT transaction rejects?

If the account is on 5-day repayment (majority of accounts) the system will net out any rejects prior to sending the deposit. An example of this situation will be if XYZ Company processed 3 virtual checks in the amount of $100.00 each totaling $300.00 file. One of the checks rejects; the customer would expect to receive a $200.00 deposit instead of $300.00 from Sage.

If the account is on 3-day repayment, there will be no change. Customers may see the rejected ACH transaction debit post to their bank account first before receiving the deposit or they may receive the deposit and then the debit. The cause of this is due to the time when a “reject notice” is processed by the merchant's customer‘s bank.
