Why was I sent back to login page after trying to sign in to the Virtual Terminal?

Merchant is sent back to login page after trying to sign in to the Virtual Terminal.
When I try to log in I am sent back to the login page with no error message but blank fields.
This happens when the Virtual Terminal website's URL is missing the "s" in "https".
